CRC Research Ward Level 6, SHC

At the CRC Research Ward at Level 6, Sarawak Heart Centre we conduct clinical trials to explore new treatments and therapies for a range of medical conditions. Our clinical trials involve testing new drug therapies, medical devices, bioequivalence & bioavailability(BA/BE) and food science studies.

Our facility boasts 4 high dependency beds, which provide an essential level of care for subjects requiring close monitoring during their participation in the study. Additionally, we have 24 beds, providing ample space for healthy human subjects to stay during the duration of their study.

Our experienced team of medical professionals who are GCP certified are trained to manage any adverse events that may occur during the trial.

We take great care to ensure that our study participants are comfortable and well-informed throughout their time with us. We provide a range of amenities, including comfortable beds, private rooms, recreational areas, and access to Wi-Fi. Our team also provides regular meals based on the dietary requirements for the study.

Bioequivalence/Bioavailability Studies (BA/BE Studies)

The ward has been specifically equipped to provide a safe, comfortable and controlled environment for conducting BA/BE studies. We are proud to have run over 50 such studies to date.

The team running the clinical trial ward is able to provide round-the-clock care by our team of experienced medical professionals. Our team is comprised of doctors, nurses, pharmacists, and study coordinators, who are all dedicated to ensuring the safety and well-being of our study participants.

At our clinical research ward, we are committed to upholding the highest standards of safety and ethical conduct. We adhere to all local and international regulations governing clinical research, and we have rigorous protocols in place to ensure the safety and well-being of our study participants. We also take great care to ensure that our studies are conducted in an ethical manner, adhering to the Malaysian Good Clinical Practice(GCP) Guideline.

Food Science Studies

In addition to medical research, we have conducted food science studies – namely Glycemic Index Studies. CRC is committed to developing the Agrifood and Biotechnology industry in Sarawak. Our team of experienced nutritionists and food scientists are trained to conduct these studies. The studies involve feeding healthy human subjects with different foods with different glycemic index.
