Located at level 4 of clinical research centre building within Sarawak General Hospital, is a 10-bed clinical research ward which provides comprehensive clinical trial services. This Clinical Research ward is the first purpose-built ward for early phase clinical trials in Malaysia. The Clinical Research ward is capable to carry out First-In-Human (FIH) studies, phase 1 to phase 4 clinical trials. It has received Malaysia’s National Pharmaceutical and Regulatory Authority phase 1 accreditation programme provisional license.

The ward has a centralized monitoring system allowing remote monitoring of participants and a 24-7 presence of on-site medical staff ensuring the continuing safety of study participants.
