Dr Voon Pei Jye
Dr. Voon Pei Jye is an accomplished physician with extensive experience in oncology and clinical research. Currently serving as the Head of Department for the Radiotherapy and Oncology Department at Sarawak General Hospital in Kuching, he holds an M.D. from Universiti Malaysia Sarawak and MRCP from the Royal College of Physician, United Kingdom. Dr. Voon also holds a Master of Medicine and Advanced Specialist Training in Medical Oncology from the National University of Singapore and National Cancer Institute Singapore, as well as a Clinical Research Fellowship in Phase 1 Drug Development Program from Princess Margaret Cancer Centre, University Health Network, Toronto. Dr. Voon is an active clinical researcher and is currently overseeing numerous ongoing clinical trials. His research contributions have been recognized with numerous awards and honors. Additionally, he has published multiple manuscripts and presented abstracts and posters at various conferences. Dr. Voon is one of the scientific committee members of Asia Pacific Oncology Drug Development Consortium and also ATLAS Board. He is also a member of several professional committees and societies, including the Malaysian Oncological Society, European Society of Medical Oncology (ESMO), and American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO).
Dr Ong Tiong Kiam
Dr. Ong Tiong Kiam graduated from the University of New South Wales, Australia in 1989 and completed post graduate training in both internal medicine (1994) and cardiology (2000). He has practiced as an interventional cardiologist for the past 23 years. Currently, he is the Head of the Department of Cardiology, Sarawak Heart Centre, Malaysia; and Head of the Cardiology Services, Ministry of Health, Malaysia. He is also a visiting lecturer for the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, University Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS). He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh, the American College of Cardiology, the European Society of Cardiology and the National Heart Association of Malaysia. He has been actively involved in clinical research since 2002 and has numerous publications in peer-reviewed journals. At the moment, Dr Ong is leading over 20 clinical trials as the Principal Investigator. His current research interests include novel devices for coronary intervention, non-invasive cardiac imaging, coronary physiology, lipid-lowering drugs, anti-thrombotics and cardiovascular outcome trials.
Dr Chew Lee Ping
Dr Chew Lee Ping is an accomplished consultant haematologist with over a decade of experience practicing at Sarawak General Hospital in Kuching. She obtained her medical degree from Universiti Sains Malaysia in 1999 and went on to attain MRCP(UK) in 2003. Dr Chew pursued her speciality training in Haematology at Hospital Kuala Lumpur and Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre in Melbourne for a year, honing her skills and expertise in the field.
Dr Chew’s primary focus is on malignant and non-malignant blood disorders. She has made significant contributions to the field as an active participating investigator in many multicentre clinical trials, particularly in lymphoma treatment and red blood cell disorders. Currently, she is holding 9 clinical trials as the Principal Investigator. Her dedication and commitment to advancing medical knowledge and improving patient outcomes have earned her the respect and admiration of her colleagues and patients alike.
Dr Lim Yueh Ni
Dr Lim Yueh Ni is a clinical oncologist at Sarawak General Hospital, Kuching with more than 10 years of clinical experience. She obtained her Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery with first-class honours from AIMST University, Kuala Lumpur in 2009, and completed her Master’s degree in Clinical Oncology from the University of Malaya in 2018. As a Principal Investigator for clinical trials, Dr Lim is currently leading more than 10 active clinical trials. Her active involvement in clinical trials demonstrates her passion for advancing cancer treatment and her commitment to improving the lives of cancer patients.
Dr Hadi bin Ab. Jalil
Dr Hadi bin Ab. Jalil is currently a clinical oncologist in the Department of Radiotherapy and Oncology of Sarawak General Hospital. He obtained his medical degree and subsequently had his Master in Clinical Oncology under University Malaya. His involvement and experience in clinical oncology began since 2013 and is still active in treating cancer patients currently. He is also involved actively in numerous clinical trials as principal investigator as well as sub investigator, mainly in genitourinary malignancy. His interests are in genitourinary malignancy and neuro-malignancy. He also presented at various conferences including American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO). Annual Scientific Congress of Malaysian Oncological Society (ASCOMOS) and local meetings.
